The WalStreet program, part of the Greater Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce, is introducing an exciting new series in 2017, WalStreet Fireside chat's!
The WalStreet program is a diverse group of professionals who work directly with Walmart, Sam's Club and/or suppliers, either 3rd party or direct CPG. They are committed to continuously improving how to do business within the Walmart and Sam's Club community and advancing their collective knowledge.
This will be the 1st Edition of the WalStreet Fireside Chat's and it's focus will be OmniChannel -- The Internet is Real, #Walmart.
This will be an unscripted panel discussion revolving around identifying an opportunity or two and offering alternative solutions to solve the issue.
Topics for this discussion
- Relevancy -- Why is it important to follow best practices for Walmart.com? What are the benefits? What are the Pitfalls?
- Working with Walmart -- The struggle is real. Walmart resources. Frequently asked questions.
- Traffic & Conversion -- Unique Content, Optimization, Enhanced Assets, Expended Pages, The importance of consistent management. What's coming up in the near future?
- HAVE IT -- Increasing shelf space to set-up and transact business is paramount to increasing sales at Walmart
- FIND IT -- Increase traffic by creating and optimizing data and content
- DISPLAY IT -- Increase conversion through RICH MEDIA
J.P. De Villiers
Director of Content Acquisition, Walmart
J.P. De Villiers has been with Walmart since 1997, relocating from IBM in South Africa. J.P. has always worked in the Walmart Information Systems Division supporting the U.S. and international businesses. Prior to moving into his current role as Director of Content, J.P. had responsibility for the Data Quality & Governance of Walmart’s global master data platforms. Amongst other roles in his tenure at Walmart, J.P. charted the IT Innovation program and led the technology integration for Walmart’s entry into Africa.
Matt Harp, ACOSTA
Director of eCommerce Content Solutions
Matt Harp joined Acosta in 2017 as the Director of eCommerce content solutions. Prior to joining the team, Matt served at Samsung, where he was responsible for the successful growth and development of Samsung’s Walmart.com business. Matt’s extensive industry knowledge and omnichannel experience have equipped him as a thought leader in the online retail space.
Mary Heman, MaxPoint
Director Shopper Marketing
Mary is a Shopper Marketer with 12 years of experience in Northwest Arkansas working in partnership with Walmart and Sam’s Club. Mary is currently at MaxPoint Interactive, a technology company that provides brands and retailers a complete, real-time view of consumers and their purchase behavior, where she is leading the Northwest Arkansas Team. Prior, Mary worked at Abbott Nutrition where she led Shopper Marketing strategic planning & promotional initiatives as well as developed eCommerce merchandising strategy for walmart.com Abbott portfolio of brands.
Eric Howerton, WhyteSpyder
CEO
Eric has over 19 years of experience in digital marketing, advertising and publishing — implementing strategy and execution for e-commerce search engine and content marketing. Eric oversees WhyteSpyder's Walmart and Sam's Club product detail page optimization and enhancement program (MARKENDISING) that helps suppliers and their agencies increase sales online and in-store.
