Mitchell Williams Law Firm, in conjunction with The Payroll Company (TPC) and Landmark CPA, will host a free Employment Law Seminar on Tuesday, February 4 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Harding University Northwest Arkansas campus in Rogers. Attorneys Nathan Read, Amanda Orcutt, and Lauren Grinder will present current issues and trends in employment policies and discuss employee handbook “Must Haves” including FMLA, sexual harassment, drug testing and medical marijuana in the workplace. This seminar will also take a deeper dive into the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) wage and hour laws reviewing the new exempt salary basis, classifications, tracking time worked, overtime pay, misclassifications and joint employer issues. Mitchell Williams Attorney Craig Cockrell and Landmark CPA Larissa Miller will present information on HR and Payroll reporting requirements and penalties for failing to timely file forms.
