A longtime figure in Arkansas sports\, Evin Demirel is the author of African-American Athletes in Arkansas: Muhammad Ali's Tour\, Black Razorbacks and Other Forgotten Stories. Demirel has written for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette\, The New York Times\, Sporting Life Arkansas\, SB Nation Longform\, and SlamOnline. A Little Rock native\, he previously taught at Episcopal Collegiate.
