2020 August Small Business Hub: Cyber...
Description
Where collaboration, continuing education, and community collide.
With a new focus monthly pertaining to a topic that local businesses have reached out about needing help in, participants will have the opportunity to hear and speak directly with successful small business owners, investors, and waymakers on how they can better their business. At the Greater Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce, we believe that our community thrives because we don't just do business with other businesses, we do it with people, whether digitally or face to face.
In 2017, 61% of small businesses in the United States suffered some kind of cyber attack. This number reflects an over 50% increase year to year in cybersecurity assaults on U.S. small businesses. Now, more than ever, there are many reasons why small businesses need cybersecurity — privacy, client trust, financial integrity, employee integrity, data integrity and the longevity of the business. We know for many that the topic of cybersecurity can seem overwhelmingly complex, but a basic understanding of cybersecurity is considered table stakes for running a business in 2020, particularly a business with any kind of online presence. However, even those companies without an online presence can be quite vulnerable to cybersecurity threats.
If you've been feeling uneasy or on edge about how your business could be attacked during a time where everything we do is digital, we're here to help! Join us, August 5th, as we hear from the Edafio team on why keeping a cybersecurity budget is necessary and crucial.
