Corporate Accountant $65,000 - $75,000/ year depending on qualifications and/or experience This role will be responsible for managing the financials of multiple LLC’s, construction projects, corporate and property management accounts. The below tasks encompass work for Newell Development, project specific and corporate as well as Wheelhouse REM property specific and corporate. As our small company continues to grow, responsibilities may be shifted or added depending on current needs of our company. A flexible, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset is a must to be successful in this role and fit into our company culture. Newell Development ? Reviews budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents and researches and resolves discrepancies as necessary. ? Receives, reviews and processes payment for all project and corporate related payables in accounting software. ? Prepare and manage monthly project draws in conjunction with appropriate bank contacts ? Performs bank reconciliations for all accounts monthly. ? Project specific accounts ? Corporate office accounts ? Maintains and coordinates corporate accounting control procedures by analyzing revenue and expenditure trends and recommending appropriate budget levels to ensure expenditure control. ? Compiles and analyzes financial information for Newell Development and Wheelhouse Real Estate Management in preparation for entry into various financial statements and accounting reports. ? Maintain cash balances and oversee cash activity, including coordinating with various associates to ensure timely payment ? Prepare, send and track invoices related to accounts receivables ? Maintain cash balances and oversee cash activity, including coordinating with various associates to ensure timely payment and high-quality input to accounting software ? Supports the management of loans, payment remission and renewals as needed ? Analyzes and reviews accounting and financial resources for property acquisitions, dispositions, and closings and corporate financial and accounting transactions. ? Establishes new bank accounts for new entities and projects ? Tracks pre-loan expenses and capital contributions and prepares and submits documentation for reimbursements ? Monitors and archives all loan terms, payments, and documents. ? Communicates with leadership team on future capital needs and current and project cash balances. ? Completes monthly financial, accounting, project and administrative reports and analysis. ? Manage and complete monthly corporate credit card reconciliations ? Property and Business Personal Property tax assessments and other processes related to property tax payments ? Works with 3rd party accounting service consultants as needed. ? New vendor onboarding including the tracking of W9’s, insurance certificates, fully executed agreements or contracts and other pertinent documentation prior to disbursement of payments ? Analyze and prepare recommendations to management on process improvement ? Other duties may be added specific to this role. Wheelhouse Real Estate Management ? Reviews budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents and researches and resolves discrepancies as necessary. ? Works with and is a resource to the Director of Property Management during monthly bank reconciliations of all property accounts. ? Compiles and analyzes financial information for Newell Development and Wheelhouse Real Estate Management in preparation for entry into various financial statements and accounting reports. ? Analyzes and reviews accounting and financial resources for property acquisitions, dispositions, and closings and corporate financial and accounting transactions ? Establishes new bank accounts for each property acquisition and assists the Director with closing out inactive accounts after dispositions. ? Monitors and archives all loan terms and documents for stabilized properties. ? Communicates with leadership team on future capital needs and current and project cash balances on a corporate level. ? 1099 preparation and processing ? New vendor onboarding including the tracking of W9’s, insurance certificates, fully executed agreements or contracts and other pertinent documentation prior to disbursement of payments ? Completes various financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analysis, and performs other duties as assigned or as necessary. ? Works with 3rd party accounting service consultants as needed. ? Other duties may be added specific to this role. Experience • Bachelors’ degree in accounting, finance, or related field • Working knowledge and experience using QuickBooks, Excel and other accounting software • 2-3 years of prior work experience in accounting as it pertains to small business and/ or real estate highly preferred. If you can do these things, you should consider applying! • Effectively communicate both verbally and in written form clearly and professionally. • Read and comprehend real estate contracts, HUD’s, loan documents, etc. • Highly organized and able to multi-task and prioritize. • Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze and process complex data. • Manage the financials of multiple projects and accounts effectively. • Prepare and present financial reports regularly and on an as-needed basis. • Keep cool and pivot in a fast- paced, ever changing work environment. • Work hard, play hard and maintain a positive drama free attitude. • Alignment with our company mission, vision, values, and culture.
