General Summary
The Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness provides leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for accreditation, assessment, institutional research, planning, and continuous improvement activities. This role ensures that institutional data, assessment results, and strategic initiatives align with the College’s mission, vision, and goals. The Executive Director partners with senior leadership, faculty, and staff to foster a culture of evidence-based decision making and institutional accountability.
Essential Job Duties
• Serve as the Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO), leading institution-wide accreditation activities with the College’s regional accreditor as well as compliance efforts.
• Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive college-wide assessment strategy for academic, co-curricular, and administrative units.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to establish, review, and enhance learning outcomes and program evaluation processes.
• Lead the coordination, evaluation, and maintenance of the College’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with institutional mission and priorities.
• Provide management and oversight of Institutional Research activities, ensuring high-quality data governance, integrity, and analysis.
• Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of institutional data related to enrollment, retention, completion, student success, and other factors related to overall institution effectiveness.
• Oversee, evaluate, synthesize accurate and timely reporting of institutional data for state and federal reporting such as IPEDS, reporting to MDHEWD, Perkins, and other agencies as requested and evaluates the coordination of programmatic and college-wide data into college-wide accreditation activities and programmatic continuous improvement.
• Assist academic support areas with compliance reporting such as WIOA and Financial Value Transparency and Gainful Employment.
• Advise the President and Cabinet through data-informed insights that support institutional planning, assessment, and decision-making.
• Collaborate with departments throughout the college to improve develop data collection and retrieval strategies to inform decision making for institutional effectiveness.
• Coordinate the development and publication of the annual College Factbook and related performance reports.
• Directly supervise Institutional Research and personnel while promoting professional growth and a culture of collaboration.
• Collaborate closely with the Coordinator of Teaching and Learning as well as data analysts to strengthen the culture of data strategy throughout the college.
• Collaborate with Information Technology and administrative units to enhance data systems and strengthen institutional reporting capacity.
• Serve as Ex-Officio member of the Assessment and Program Review Committees, providing leadership for institutional effectiveness initiatives.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring responsible stewardship of college resources.
• Represent the College at conferences and professional meetings to share best practices and advance institutional effectiveness.
• Perform other duties as assigned related to maintaining the overall effectiveness of the College.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of regional accreditation criteria and assessment practices.
• Knowledge of strategic planning, institutional research, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to interpret and use data to inform strategic and operational decision-making across departments as well as College-wide efforts.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and supervisory skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to convey complex data clearly.
• Proficiency with data analysis software applications.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse teams.
• Commitment to integrity, transparency, and the mission of community college education.
Education and Experience
• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field with strong data analysis skills required. Doctorate preferred.
• Minimum of three years of related experience in a college or university setting using data to inform assessment and accreditation.
• Minimum of three years of experience in supervision and project management.
• Experience with business intelligence tools and regional accreditation processes preferred.

Working Environment
Generally works indoors in a standard office environment. Normal college working hours apply, with occasional evening or weekend work as required. Travel to other instructional sites or professional meetings may be required.
